A German native, I could not be more excited to be a partner in Engel & Völkers Chicago. I was born in Bremen, about 60 miles from Engel & Völkers' world headquarters in Hamburg and have been familiar with the company for as long as I can remember. I am very excited to affiliate with such a distinguished and well-respected brand.
Given my prior experience in international private banking in Hanover and at Merrill Lynch in London, residential brokerage proved to be an ideal fit for me. Over the last 15 years, Jenny Ames and I worked together on approximately 1,300 transactions amounting to over $1.4 billion in sales. With a nearly photogenic memory, I can recall each of the homes we’ve sold, which comes in handy working with buyers and in valuing homes for sellers.
As the team’s Vice President of Residential Sales, I am thrilled to have been nominated to become a member of the Engel & Völkers’ prestigious Private Office, an exclusive referral platform developed specifically to support the needs of our highest net-worth clients. As a Private Office Advisor, I will be part of a strong international referral network, working together to support all our clients’ real estate needs.
Before moving to Chicago in 2003, I lived in Germany, Singapore and then England where I met my wife while studying international business at Regent College in London. She comes from an old Chicago family, and we felt that Chicago would be the ideal place to be married and raise our family.
We are blessed with two great kids who are growing up too quickly; this year I am enjoying volunteering as a grade chair at the Latin School of Chicago. I also like exploring new restaurants in the city and competitive sailing on Lake Michigan.
